What Is Faith?

Faith is a complete trust, confidence and reliance in God. It is a firm belief without proof, a yearning from the bottom of one’s heart for God’s kingdom to come. It means absolute allegiance, loyalty and fidelity to God no matter under what circumstances.

We are justified by faith alone. But many confuse “faith alone” with “the faith that is alone.” They think that work is unnecessary, obedience is optional and one can be justified by an empty belief that results in no fruit. Their logic is that since we are not justified by works, we don’t even need to make any effort to do God’s work. By their doctrine, being unfaithful, lax, worldly or even submitting to sin will not affect one’s salvation. This widespread doctrine interprets “justification by faith alone” as “justified by faith plus nothing,” by which they mean one can be justified without a love for God, without a hatred for sin, without any effort to keep God’s commandments, without any desire to do God’s will, without any sense of responsibility to defend God’s truth. They teach that one can be as carnal as the world, as long as he had a moment of accepting the fact that Christ died for our sin and was raised up to heaven from death, he is justified. This false faith is a deception from Satan in man’s sinful heart. People who hold on to this false religion prove that they have an unsanctified heart and they do not belong to God. They will be condemned as ungodly and held guilty in the Judgment Day for their willingness to accept a lie rather than the truth, as God always looks into man’s heart.

What are the benefits of blogging for small business?

  • Build Community: Business blogs provide your small business with a chance to share your expertise and knowledge with a larger audience. An opportunity to connect with a wider audience and build a community is a strong benefit for consultants and knowledge workers.
  • Easy Web Publishing Solution: Blog software is easy to use. Simply write your thoughts, link to resources, and publish to your blog, all at the push of a few buttons. Blog software companies such as TypePad or Blogger.com offer easy blogging tools to get started. Updating the weblog is a faster process than contacting a web designer with changes or doing the coding and uploading yourself.
  • Higher Search Engine Rankings: Search engine marketing is hot. The search market has become the Holy Grail of Internet advertising and continues to grow faster than our expectations. We believe search is actually gaining some market share from other types of online marketing. The cost of generating traffic from search engine marketing is much lower than traditional media. Search engine marketing has the lowest cost-per-lead and the highest return on investment. U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, estimated that the cost per lead was $0.29 for search, $0.50 for e-mail, $1.18 for the yellow pages, $2.00 for banner ads, and $9.94 for direct mail.

If your business does not rank in the top 20 spots on the major search engines, you might as well be in the millionth ranking spot. However, techniques such as search engine optimization (SEO) can increase search engine rankings. The costs of many SEO services are between $5,000 to $10,000 per year. Business blogging offers an affordable solution for small business. Business bloggers are achieving top search engine rankings because search engines rank based on link popularity and easy to index regular content among other factors. Learning the basic skills of search engine optimization and good content management are keys to better rankings for bloggers.

  • Lower Costs: Blogging is a low-cost alternative to having a web presence. For small business owners without the time to learn web html or the money to hire a designer/developer, blogging offers an inexpensive method to get your company’s name out on the Internet.
  • Better Communications: Blogging provides several communication benefits. As indicated by Business Weeks’ Olga Kharif in “Blogging for Business” Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban sees blogging as a time saver instead of providing many interviews blogging gets his message out to many people at once. The biggest benefit of RSS for your web audience is a better solution for notification than websites themselves or email. As indicated by Bill Gates in a speech at the Microsoft CEO Summit 2004 in Redmond, Washington: if you just put information on a Web site, then people don’t know to come visit that Web site, and it’s very painful to keep visiting somebody’s Web site and it never changes. It’s very typical that a lot of the Web sites you go to that are personal in nature just eventually go completely stale and you waste time looking at it; And so, getting away from the drawbacks of e-mail — that it’s too imposing — and yet the drawbacks of the Web site — that you don’t know if there’s something new and interesting there ; this [blogs & RSS] is about solving that.

PLEASE LET YOUR CHILDREN READ THIS

My mom only had one eye. I hated her… She was such an embarrassment..
She cooked for students & teachers to support the family.

There was this one day during elementary school where my mom came to
Say hello to me.
I was so embarrassed.
How could she do this to me?
I ignored her, threw her a hateful look and ran out.
The next day at school one of my classmates said, “EEEE, your mom only
Has one eye!”
I wanted to bury myself.
I also wanted my mom to just disappear..
I confronted her that day and said, ” If you’re only goanna make me a
Laughing stock, why don’t you just die?”
My mom did not respond….
I didn’t even stop to think for a second about what I had said,
because
I was full of anger.
I was oblivious to her feelings.
I wanted out of that house, and have nothing to do with her.
So I studied real hard, got a chance to go abroad to study.
Then, I got married.
I bought a house of my own.
I had kids of my own.

I was happy with my life, my kids and the comforts, Then one day, my
Mother came to visit me.
She hadn’t seen me in years and she didn’t even meet her
Grandchildren.
When she stood by the door, my children laughed at her, and I yelled at
Her for coming over uninvited.
I screamed at her, “How dare you come to my house and scare my
Children!”
GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!!”
And to this, my mother quietly answered, “Oh, I’m so sorry. I may have
Gotten the wrong address,”
And she disappeared out of sight.
One day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house.
So I lied to my wife that I was going on a business trip.
After the reunion, I went
to the old shack just out of curiosity.
My neighbors said that she died.
I did not shed a single tear.
They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.

“My dearest son,
I think of you all the time. I’m sorry that I came to your house and
Scared your children.
I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion.
But I may not be able to even get out of bed to see you.
I’m sorry that I was a constant embarrassment to you when you were
Growing up.

You see……..when you were very little, you got into an accident, and
Lost your eye.
As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you
Having to grow up with one eye.
So I gave you mine.
I was so proud of my son who was seeing a whole new world for me, in my
Place, with that eye.

With all my love to you,
Your mother.

Leading People (Being A Leader) - Working as a Team

As I compose this article i was in a conference with my fellow MIS officers. we are exchanging ideas, comments and suggestion on how to deal with the people leading us..

Some of my fellow MIS officers are frustrated in the way our team leader is leading us. They are asking. Are we on the right track?. In a recent conversation with them I was told, “Leadership is about managing time and getting things done.” I couldn’t disagree more. But our mentor an IT Manager emphasized that leadership is about giving your people the right tool to succeed.

As the time goes by we developed the sense of responsibility, the sense of ownership in every task and project that are given to us. We also discovered that leaders who forge relationships with subordinates are in a much better position. Many employees like us are likely to stick around even if a job with better pay comes up - within a reasonable margin, anyway. Better yet, where the employees of a pointy-haired(absolutely moody) LEADER do the absolute minimum as ordered, those employees you have relationships with are likely to go a step further and provide you with the best outcome they can. (of course we are now doing better with the motivation of this IT Manager who sometimes takes the role of being our leader in lieu of the person who is supposed to be leading us..) He always encourage us to work as a Team. In one of our conversations he told me that teams are selected from a pool of people with different skills, viewpoints, attitudes and desires. Good teams are not chosen before the project is, because it takes a certain person, and a certain set of people, to attain different goals.

In summary we hope and pray that the person who is supposed to be leading us must woke up from a very deep slumber and build that comfortable atmosphere in our team. It is safe, free-flowing communication that produces results, not forced communication.

cheers MIS TEAM

FINDING HONORABLE JOBS

Lots of Filipinos leave for abroad because they thought life abroad is better. Maybe. Or maybe not. Some think lowly of a farmer and thinks that an office secretary is a better job.

I just think it’s all about perspective. A change in perspective creates a big difference in the way we live our lives and further, how people create impact in our country.

TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s

First, some of us survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us. ( sioktong ang inumin) They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, fish from a can (brand:ligo), and didn’t get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints, pati na yung laruang kabayu-kabayuhan.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, no kneepads , sometimes wala ngang preno yung bisikleta.
As children, we would ride in car with no seat belts or air bags ¨C hanggang ngayon naman, di ba ? ( jeep ) Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
( maykaya kayo pare ! ) We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle
( minsan straight from the faucet) We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this. Or contacted hepatitis. We ate rice with tinunaw na purico ( dahil ubos na ang star margarine), nutribuns na galing kay macoy and drank sopdrinks with sugar in it, but we weren’t overweight kasi nga….. .

WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!

We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. Sarap mag patintero, tumbang preso , habulan taguan¡. No one was able to reach us all day ( di uso ang celfon , walang beepers ). And we were O.K. We would spend hours building our trolleys or slides out of scraps and then ride down the street , only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo’s, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms……. …WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no
lawsuits from these accidents. The only rubbing we get is from our friends with the words¡..masakit ba ? pero pag galit yung kalaro mo,,,,ang sasabihin sa iyo¡..beh buti nga !

We play in the dirt , wash our hands a little and ate with our barehands¡we were not afraid of getting worms in our stomachs. We have to live with homemade guns ¨C gawa sa kahoy, tinali ng rubberband , sumpit , tirador at kung ano ano pa na puedeng makasakit¡..pero walang nagrereklamo , made up games with sticks ( syatong )and cans ( tumbang preso )and although we were told it would happen, wala naman tayong binulag o napatay¡.paminsan minsan may nabubukulan. We rode bikes or walked to a friend’s house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them! Mini basketball teams had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn’t had to learn to deal with disappointment. Walang sumasama ang loob. Ang magulang ay nandoon lang para tignan kung ayos lang ang bata¡.hindi para makialam. This generation of ours has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and managers ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned

HOW TO
DEAL WITH IT ALL!

And YOU are one of them!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the government regulated our lives for our own good.

and while you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.

PS - The big type is because your eyes may not be able to read this¡. at your age
ok lang ba kaibigan?
pakipasa nga ito sa mga tunay mo na kaibigan para makaalaala pa.

This post was forwaded to me by my beloved mother..
thank you for reading
